5 Best Summer Drinks

Even though the summer is coming to an end, I’m still enjoying the nice weather, longer days, and….refreshing drinks!  Here are Tif’s top 5 summer drinks- both with alcohol and without:

1. Mojito

My all-time favorite summer drink is the mojito.  It’s cool, refreshing, minty and just reminds me of summer.  See my recipe here.

2. Sangria

I really don’t care for red wine, so I always make white sangria, using a wine that’s sweet and not too dry, like a moscato.  I love adding “summer” fruits in it like peaches and mangoes!

3. Fruit-infused water

I drink water with lemon year-round, but in the summer, I have a lot more fun with it.  I’ll add whatever fruits I have in my fridge- peaches, strawberries, limes, and blueberries and then I add a sprig of mint.  I usually bring it to work, and my co-workers are so jealous!  It’s really good for detoxing too!

4. Watermelon Limeade

I’m obsessed with watermelon in the summer!  When I think of summer, and image of sliced watermelon comes to mind.  Since watermelon is made mostly of water, it makes it a great fruit to turn into a drink.  Whenever we can’t finish a whole watermelon before it turns bad, I slice up the remainder, freeze it, and use it later in a drink.  Here’s one of my favorites:

Ingredients
2 cups frozen watermelon, cubed
1/2 cup water or coconut water (add more as needed)
2 Tbsp simple syrup
Juice from 2 limes

Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a blender on high speed and blend until frothy.
Add more water if needed
Pour into frosted glasses to keep cool, garnish with lime.

5. Strawberry lemonade vodka
